Ditch the Knife, Value Life:
The Power of Social Responsibility Through the Lens
Ditch the Knife Value Life Leicester is more than just an initiative – it’s a powerful movement captured through the lens. In the heart of Leicester, against the Gothic backdrop of Robert Hall Memorial Baptist Church, the community gathered to take a stand against violence and support The Brotherhood Legion. At Waldorf Art Studio, we had the honour of documenting this remarkable event.
The Birth of Ditch the Knife Value Life Leicester
Founded in 2021 after the tragic death of a 21-year-old man fatally stabbed near his home, Ditch the Knife Value Life Leicester was created by Tyler Draycott. His mission: to educate young people, challenge the culture that glorifies violence, and introduce practical solutions – such as bleed control kits – that can save lives.
The Importance of Bleed Control Kits
The statistics are stark: a victim can bleed to death within 3–5 minutes, while emergency response often takes 7–8 minutes. Value Life Leicester initiative promotes bleed control kits, including tourniquets, haemostatic dressings, and clear instructions – tools that buy precious time until help arrives.
The Leicester Event
The unveiling of a new bleed control kit, sponsored by The Brotherhood Legion, brought the city together. Beyond symbolism, it was a step toward real safety and men’s mental health awareness.
The Role of Robert Jasiu
Robert Jasiu was appointed as an ambassador for The Brotherhood Legion. His dedication to tackling violence and promoting men’s mental health left a deep impression on the crowd.
